So why Alimoche?
"Alimoche" is Spanish for Egyptian Vulture (neophron percnopterus), the sole member of the genus Neophron. Known as the Pharaoh's chicken, the Egyptian Vulture has been constantly overlooked as part of the vulture family, yet despite constant efforts to eradicate the vulture population, these beautiful birds continue to endure. We therefore called our magazine Alimoche as a tribute to these birds' everlasting resilience and appreciation of their undying beauty. From the Old World comes New Life, and from the Old Publications comes New Energy. The use of yellows, whites, blacks and browns on our page reflects the plumage of the Egyptian Vulture, in a dignified homage to their recovery as a species and the beauty in their chaos.
